Day 3 : The Final Call + 5 Keys of Nineveh

THE ISSUE OF LIFE BEFORE THE CONSCIENCE OF THE NATION

Over the last few years, God has brought the Unborn and the Issue of Life to the forefront in America on numerous occasions.  We are now in a moment where we are being weighed before the courts of heaven, to see how we will respond to what God has been speaking to our nation:

• In 2019, Unplanned the movie was released across the nation and the eyes of many were opened to the true nature of abortion.  What made this story significant is that it was the real-life experience of a Director from Planned Parenthood, who truly didn’t understand the horrors of abortion until her eyes were opened.  This film prompted nearly 100 abortion workers to leave their jobs and seek out a new livelihood! 1

• Another new movie, The Matter of Life, is being released nationally in theaters May 16-17 this year.  Already, it is being said: “Most people who view the film tell us that this is the best pro-life film they have ever seen!”  However, incredible opposition and backlash has been arising against those promoting the movie online. 

  Again, the issue of life and the unborn is being brought to the national forefront, only months before the Supreme Court is scheduled to release their decision on a critical case in our nation.  As one international ministry testifies, “We are closer to winning the battle against nationally legalized abortion then we have ever been. We’ve been fighting this battle for nearly 50 years. This is not the time to retreat. It is time to stand up and continue fighting for the rights of the unborn!” 2

• In a recent news article, the horrendous nature of abortion was brought before the public eye, when five fully formed, late term aborted children were found murdered and mangled in the dumpsters of Washington D.C.  When it was reported as a possible violation of law to the authorities, those who reported it were instead arrested and threatened with up to 11 years in prison, 3 years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $350,000! 3

• This June, the Supreme Court of America will announce their decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, in “what may be the most important abortion case in decades.” The decision of nine Supreme Court justices could very well overturn Roe v. Wade completely or partially in our generation! While there are enough pro-life judges to overturn Roe v. Wade, the political pressure and intimidation is greater than we can understand, and the spiritual and cultural war over the soul of our nation is tremendously fierce.
  

If we fail to overturn abortion in this critical hour, the full bloodguilt of America could be counted against us by the courts of heaven!  If we do not awaken in this moment of mercy and return to God in humility, brokenness and repentance, we may not have another opportunity to see redemption in this Nineveh hour.  To have all the Supreme Court Justices we need in place, yet not overturn this wicked practice – could become the greatest sin accounted to the Church and to our nation, in these critical days of America!  

THE FINAL CALL FOR REPENTANCE

“The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here.”

                - Matthew 12:41 (NIV)

America now finds herself on the brink of either a great and terrible judgment from which we may never recover, or on the brink of a great and glorious revival, which could bring about the restoration of His promises over our nation. 

What direction we go will be entirely determined by whether we, as the people of God, hear what the Spirit of God is saying and whether we respond to the urgency of the hour in the way that He is looking for.  Friends, we are in the eleventh hour, the final hour for mercy!

America is in a Nineveh moment. We are in the final call for repentance as a nation!  We will either lose the promises of God over America, or we will see the rebirthing of His purposes in our nation.

FIVE KEY RESPONSES GOD IS LOOKING FOR

There were five key ways that Nineveh responded before God that ushered in a great outpouring of mercy and revival:

1. They Believed God

This is a profound statement – a completely godless generation heard the word of the Lord, awakened to the urgency of the hour and believed God!

2. They Declared a Fast

Giving up the enjoyments, pleasures and distractions of this life, they humbled themselves and became wholeheartedly focused on Him!

3. All of Them, from the Greatest to the Least, Put on Sackcloth

They allowed themselves to feel uncomfortable continuously, so they would not forget, even for a moment, the hour in which they were living.

4. Everyone Urgently Called on God

With desperation, this was a heart-wrenching cry for mercy – knowing if they did not catch the attention of heaven, in that window of time, there would be no hope for their people or their nation.

5. They Turned Away from their Evil Ways and Violence

They surrendered their offensive and grievous ways before the Lord, responding with deep and life-altering repentance! 

Even in the finality of declared judgment, as was in the case of Nineveh (no hope was offered in Jonah’s message), there was still the possibility of mercy they held onto: “Who knows?  God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” (Jonah 3:9)

“When God saw what they did…he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened.”  (Jonah 3:5-10)

How will we respond in this critical season of our nation’s history, to the invitation of heaven to return to Him with all of our hearts?  4

PRAYER

• Pray the eyes and ears of believers would be opened to the final call for repentance sounding forth from heaven – that we would respond with wholeheartedness, and that the Spirit of repentance, humility, fasting and urgent prayer would be poured upon us as never before!
  

• Take time now to ask God: “What is the level of prayer, humility, seeking and repentance that You are calling me into, that is needed in this urgent hour?”  Ask the Lord how He would have you to fast or to consecrate yourself in this critical window of time.  Write it down and commit yourself, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, to walk it out in these days!
